I thought a few munchies or grabs would make me do well one fine day. But as it approached lunch time, I recalled I didn’t sup the previous eve, so food would do better.
The restaurant had a very attractive name (Home care). Wouldn’t you want to add one or two more restaurateurs on your most high list?Half an hour of waiting for my orders to be taken seemed too little for the servers. I had to wait for more minutes. Minutes passed and no one ever recognized just my presence. None was ‘lured’ to take the money I had taken for them either!
I dreamily started enjoying my food that made my already heated appetite boil. A come-and-get- my orders signal to one of the waiters yielded positive, but only after some minutes again. I now leave the time I took to get my food rested on the table at your calculation.
My complaint on why it took such ages to serve, leave alone recognize me, was solved with a coy smile, that I presumed was intended at giving a last impression, that ended up depressing me even more. Why the smile was openly forced and it looked dry and empty.
I pardoned them for the delay and made haste for the sink, while trying very hard to contain my appetite that had started wilting by the way. But alas! More stress factors still awaited me.
The sink wasn’t the type that could keep a cocked appetite in the same state. Just imagine a dirrrrty sink! My eyes that are as greedy as anybody’s, simply slashed off the remaining appetite. Right above the sink, the insatiably organs dragged me to boldly etched warnings on a white piece of paper pasted above the sink. Don’t release flu, spittle, saliva or cough in the sink! Akrrr!
But i wasn't alone, and as I tried to forcefully binge, one of the waitresses, with utmost strongheadedness, put a pile of dirty plates on the table where a chap next to me, was seemingly enjoying his food. You should have been there to see the expression on young man's face. Whatever word I want to use to describe his reaction appears inadequate.
